The plate is made of steel and features embossed lettering with orange on black colors. These are similar colors to the 1955 Maryland plates, and this booster plate likely dates to the 1950s. Booster plates like this are neat pieces of automobilia and would have been mounted to the front of vehicles when states did not issue pairs of plates (just single plates). This piece would be a neat gift
