Not included is protective gear, which should be chosen based on your comfort level (whether it be just gloves, a veil, a jacket or a full suit). Also recommended a queen excluder, but this is not needed until later in the season when the "honey super" is put on. Included: J Hook hive tool. You can get by with just this tool (which we prefer), but some people also
