Constructed from solid teak with a deep, time worn patina, it features its original brass and iron fittings and sturdy side handles. The chest opens to reveal a spacious interior with a fitted candle box, a sturdy chain to prevent strain on the hinges, and a cleverly concealed sliding bottom of the candle box which may have
