Red Leather Parcel Gilt Trunk On Stand - Late 19th Century Indonesia 103 x 5 x 195These Chinese red leather trunks from Shanghai date to the end of the Qing dynasty (1644 1911) circa 1890. They have raised gilt painted shou symbols as well as their own stands, and are in great condition for over one hundred years old Chinese leather trunks have been used for many hundreds of years with the classic style changing very little. This parcel gilt work style appeared at the end of the 19th century. These chests were made for traveling
