We love this piece for the beautiful animal carvings with monkeys riding on the backs of peacocks and a leopard sitting at Krishna's feet

Chinese Flower Stand From Jiangsu - 19th Century Occasional Tables Created by Himalayan MayaThis elegant 19th century Chinese flower stand from Jiangsu province is crafted from red elm (zelkova), known in China as jumu or southern elm. Red elm is prized for its warm reddish tone and attractive grain, and in traditional Chinese furniture making it was often considered superior to its northern elm counterpart. The timber was widely used by craftsmen in Jiangsu, a region celebrated for producing refined and well proportioned hardwood furniture.
