Holland Society Annual Dinner, New York 1892 Chevron We love the humour inThough interesting to read, many 19th century menus are plain and unadorned so this colorful menu with a musician playing a lute caught our eye. It was printed in 1892 for an annual dinner of the Holland Society of New York which took place at the Manhattan Athletic club. The society had been founded seven years previously for the purposes of preserving the history of the New Netherlands and it still exists today at 20 W 44th St in midtown Manhattan.
