It is almost unheard of to find Tibetan cabinets with a Taoist theme and it seems likely this piece originated in Eastern Tibet

Painted Teak Singhasan From Bikaner - India - 19thC Kang Tables 53 x 6 x 71An exquisitely painted god throne dating from the 19th century, known in Hindi as a 'singhasan' or 'puja mandir'. This style of green and red paintwork is characteristic of traditional artwork from Bikaner, Rajasthan. Bikaner area is famed for its beautifully painted buildings and furniture. Carved from teakwood, the shape and painted designs are classically Mughal. The repeating glass mosaic running along the bottom sparkles as it catches the light.
