Typically, it is rather difficult to obtain fine Cat's Eye Opals from any locality over 1 carat with a sharp distinct "eye" like the one seen in this stone. Like all Cat's Eye gems, this stone has thin fibrous inclusions that reflect the light to create the thin white line or "eye" in the center of the stone. It takes skill to properly orient the rough so the "eye" sits
