They were used by the desert dwelling tribes of Western Rajasthan in their buildings which were made of mud and clay. Wood is very scarce in the desert & doors, windows and furniture were made of sticks harvested from the Kair tree (Capparis decidua). The sticks are then riveted together with iron fittings.
