Constructed of bronze, the obverse bearing a raised SS style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, circumscribed by an inscription of JULFEST 1939 with oak leaves, the reverse bearing a raised dedication of DIE SCHWARZE GARDE SS OBERABSCHNITT OST (THE BLACK GUARD OF SS MAIN DISTRICT EAST), maker marked DESCHLER & SOHN for the famous Munich based medal firm, measuring 55 mm in diameter, a
