Constructed of magnetic metal, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a leftward facing profile of German, circumscribed by an inscription of SUEDWEST AFRIKA 1904 06, the reverse bearing a central crown monogram of Kaiser Wilhelm II, circumscribed by an inscription of VERDIENST UM DIE EXPEDITION (SERVICE TO THE EXPEDITION), unmarked, measuring 32. 66 mm in diameter, weighing
