Footnote: Alois Weger received the Knights Cross in the rank of Senior Lieutenant of the Reserve on December 9, 1944 while leading the 3rd Company of Panzer Grenadier Regiment 33, part of the 4th Panzer Division, stationed on the Eastern Front. At the time of Wegers award, his unit fought in the Courland pocket.
