Constructed of magnetic metal, consisting of a curved shield, the obverse bearing a central raised balloon and basket, circumscribed by hand painted white inscription of WACH ART. 1 and LUFTSCHIFFER BTL. NR. 2 (AIRSHIP BATTALION NR. 2), the reverse with a central downward pointing stabilizer, with the upper right corners featuring integral loops connecting to a magnetic metal chain with 36 links,
